This means that when you choose a removal company that ‘s a member of the BAR you know they have complied to the Office of Fair Trading approved code of practice and you can be assured of best practice. Who are the BAR?
For over 100 years the British Association of Removers has been the recognised voice of the professional moving and storage industry and has over 470 members in the UK. However not any removal company can be a member. The BAR regularly inspects potential & existing members ensuring that they fulfill a stringent set of rules & regulations. They carry out on-site inspections and frequently monitor customers service and satisfaction.
So what does this mean for you?
If something goes wrong you are covered. To be a member of the BAR a removal company must offer insurance and protection options. All their literature and advertising must be clear and not misleading. And for your extra peace of mind you can relax knowing you have financial protection. If your remover cancels you more than 10 days before the agreed date they must pay you back all the money you have paid them. If they cancel less than 10 days before the agreed date they must pay 150% of the monies paid.
If something unfortunately goes wrong
Your have the resource of the BAR’s free Conciliation Service to help settle any issues. But all of BAR members try to resolve any complaints fairly, quickly and efficiently
