For the first time Clarks of Amersham become a sponsor for the “Young Enterprise” scheme

Clarks of Amersham is sponsoring the The Bucks County Finals 2016 which takes place on 6th May and is the culmination of 42 senior schools and over 800 pupils competing in the Milton Keynes, Aylesbury Vale, High Wycombe and Chiltern areas for the Young Enterprise Company Programme.

The Company Programme

The Company Programme is the ultimate enterprise experience. The team of young people set up and run a real company for a year with guidance from a business volunteer and compete against schools across the whole country. They make all the decisions about their company from designing the product or service, raising the funds, winding up the company and paying their taxes.  They can also choose to set their business up as a social enterprise, focusing on addressing a social need rather than maximising their profit.

Michael Clark, Managing Director of Clarks of Amersham said. “We have been involved with the Young Enterprise scheme for a short time with one of our team volunteering as a Business Advisor in the Chiltern Area, but when the opportunity came along to sponsor the County Finals we jumped at the chance”.

“It’s a fantastic scheme” Clark said,  “enabling the youngsters to become really engaged with the world of business and setting them up with skills for work and life.
