The Furniture Ombudsman

At Clarks of Amersham we are proud to carry the British Association of Removers (BAR) badge, this means peace of mind for you. In the unlikely event that you may need to make a complaint you are fully supported by an independent body.

Complaints are handled exclusively by The Furniture Ombudsman (TFO) Ltd who is a qualified, independent and approved Consumer ADR body under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015.

Advice and Support

They have a simple process. To access this service you must:

  • First refer the matter to us at Clarks of Amersham and it must be done within 12 months of your removal taking place.
  • We then will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days of receipt
  • We then carry out at an internal investigation and provide you with a formal written outcome within 15 working days
  • If you are still unhappy, we as your remover will provide you with a written statement expressing our final viewpoint after a second review of your complaint. This must be done within 8 weeks.
  • If it is still not resolved you can then refer your complaint to the TFO but it must be done within 12 months after our final view point letter has been issued.
